  • User Generated Google

Today on google I noticed that they’ve introduced user generated ranking (like digg or YouTube) and commenting on websites.

Google is really now 2.0, however cliché that may sound.

Furthermore, I’m about to be drowned out by this Football player “Luke Freeman” unless I get some google lovin’ – so sign in to your google account, search for Luke Freeman and let’s see if we can get me back to the top!

    Peace out.

P.S. I finally heard back from the guy who owns lukefreeman.com and he bought it in 2002 for his new born son, smart move, but it means I’m never going to get it ;(

  • My Favourite Statement

    luke 1:35 pm on November 19, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

And my favourite statement for 2008 is (yet again):

    “Thank you”

That’s 7 years in a row now, going strong!

  • People love drama

Something I’ve learned: “People love drama,” yes they do!

As a media student I comment on the sensationalisation of the news media all the time, but it would seem that it is just filling a need… or creating a need to fill?

Why are gossip magazines so popular?

Or more important, why does unsubstantiated gossip spread like a wildfire?

    Because people need their fix.

Its a pity really, because so many people suffer under this regime of drama addicts.

  • One piece of advice

After a day where I had to help someone I’ve never met whilst protecting two people I hardly know (met briefly on only two instances)…I have just one piece of advice to you: if your domain name (e.g. lukefreeman.com.au) is still available then buy it before the wrong person does.

  • Why now smartyhost!?

    luke 11:31 pm on November 9, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Well, some of you may not have been able to access my site due to a security error with my server (smartyhost.com.au).

On top of that, because of poor registration system for reselling I had a fraud registration that completely defaced someone. It actually turned out alright because I could intervene before it caught on, but there needs to be more safety checks on their server.

If I decide to do more web design after graduating, I’m certainly switching to a new server.

  • One year and going strong

Yesterday marked one year that Joni and I have been together for. Well, that is one year since our first kiss to be exact, we weren’t sure when casually seeing each other as friends actually became dating so we decided to mark it at our first kiss :)

As can be expected, half of me can’t believe its already a year and the other half can’t believe its only a year!

So, it’s one year down the track and what can be said? We love each other. We’re still going strong. We still are infatuated with each other. She’s as gorgeous as ever. We’re both graduating soon and factoring each other into out plans. To put it plainly, it just feels right.

We have some pretty close mutual friends (even if I adopted them from Joni), particularly James and Kate, and they have been so much fun and its exciting seeing us live life together. Its funny how it sort of feels like we’re the cast from How I Met Your Mother with multiple Barney’s (though I think JM3 may win that award) and without the sexual tension between Ted and Robin. I was chuckling to myself about the likeness earlier :p

I have a pile of work to get to, so I’ll get back to it now I guess.

P.S. I’m pretty excited for next Thursday when we’re going out for our anniversary, I have it planned down to a tee!
